David & Astrid,
“His adorable smile – it was the first thing that captured my attention,” described newlywed Astrid upon meeting David for the first time. What started out as a casual business meeting in Chai Yo restaurant during the 2010 World Cup between Astrid and David, ended up as a romantic Views Hotel Wedding where they tied the knot on the shore of Wilderness Beach.
“It is true what they say: You know you have found the right one when you stop looking,” said Astrid. She explained that their joint love for food, culture, dancing and travel is what united them from day one and inspired the décor for their travel-themed wedding. All of this, combined with the memories from their first trip up the Garden Route, made The Views Boutique Hotel and Spa their perfect venue.
Dave & Astrid’s special wedding day
Both bride and groom described everything about their day as perfect. Despite their hopes of having a beautiful sunny wedding day, it began to rain during the couple portraits and they had to move the shoot indoors, but this new Garden Route wedding venue didn’t disappoint them. “We have some unique and absolutely gorgeous photos that I would not want to swap for the world – our favourite being the one of us in the Rasul Chamber!” said Astrid.
The Wedding Venue
Another favourite place of theirs for their Views Hotel wedding photos was a glassfish chandelier that stretched across four floors. This setting brought the couple full circle as David had proposed next to the coral tank at the Cape Town Aquarium. With enough room for 100 guests combined with outstanding food and service, the couple could not have wished for a better place to celebrate their love with friends and family.
As Astrid wisely put it, “Photographers are artists, and each photographer will have a unique style to their work. Christelle ticked all the right boxes for me. Specialising as a Garden Route wedding photographer, the passion and love Christelle has for her photography captured the essence of our wedding day, turning moments into memories and memories into pictures of timeless joy. She was amazing. On the day she had the eye to find great photo locations and we loved the fact that she thought out of the box when it started raining!” – Astrid.
