Matt & Dagmar,
Matt & Dagmar travelled all the way from the UK for their Praslin Wedding. Praslin is the 2nd biggest island in Seychelles and is host to some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The couple met exactly one year ago on Matthew’s brother’s wedding, so it was absolutely fitting that his brother and wife was the only guest at their destination wedding.
Seychelles is a bit of gamble when it comes to weddings. The weather is unpredictable and pretty much everything else is a logistical challenge. I have done many weddings in Seychelles and one needs to be a pretty laid back couple to enjoy the island time, ‘roads’ and traditions. ?
Thankfully, Matt and Dagmar are the most relaxed and chilled couple and not even the rainy weather could dampen their spirits. Their Praslin wedding was filled charged emotion and incredible joy. The ceremony took place on one of the highest spots on the island with an incredible 180-degree view of the Indian ocean and the other Seychelles islands.
But just as the couple portraits commenced, it started raining – as in a tropical downpour that one need to see to believe it! It was challenging to shoot in the rain and still get the beautiful paradise island feeling, but the couple were super amazing to work with.
After a short break to get dry, the couple and their very special guests were treated to a five-star gourmet dinner. The rain has stopped by then, and we used this opportunity to do a few night shots. This was one of the most genuine and beautiful Praslin weddings that I have done.
Thank you, Matt & Dagmar, for choosing me to be your Seychelles wedding photographer and for allowing me to be part of your very special day.
